Sticky Poplar Buds Driving you Crazy? Norwex Can Help!

Sticky Poplar Buds Driving you Crazy? Norwex Can Help!

I love spring… I think we all do.

With spring comes new life, warm windows, sunshine, tulips, green grass and buds on the trees.  If your backyard has poplar trees, you know what I am talking about. Most buds are welcome… but the poplar buds are sticky and abundant and like to attach themselves to whoever gets close.  A couple days ago, I was out in my backyard with my sweet dog, Bentley, and it only took a few minutes for his paws to covered in these sticky poplar buds.  It’s not just Bentley… these sticky buds get stuck to the bottom of my girls’ feet too and leave sticky residue and a yellow stain that can be carried all over the house.  I have heard of all sorts of remedies that ‘sort of work’ or require chemical-laden products, I even talked to a women who CUT the sticky buds out of her dog’s fur!  But look no further… Norwex’s Timeless Natural Hand Cleaner quickly removes the sticky buds and its yellow residue quickly, with natural ingredients that leave your dog’s paws or your kids’ feet soft.

When your dog wants back inside, just squirt a dab into the palm of your hand and massage it into yours dog’s paws to remove the sticky buds.  Don’t worry if your dog licks his paws as you clean them, it is a NATURAL cleaner that won’t harm him… it will only leave the pads of his feet soft and clean. If your kids love to run outside without their shoes… maybe 20 trips to and from the trampoline or to practice their backflips and cartwheels, I recommend leaving a Natural Hand Cleaner by the backdoor.  When they come in, they can quickly remove the yellow stains and sticky buds from the feet and hands before they literally STICK to your floor.

I love it when there is a natural, chemical-free solution to real-life issues.  Sticky paws and feet due to spring-time popular buds are easily resolved by Norwex’s amazing Natural Hand Cleaner.  Give it a squirt.

Well-Used Ovens and BBQs need some Love?

Well-Used Ovens and BBQs need some Love?

Recently my family hosted a delicious lasagne dinner for our extended family. It was a full house — with approximately 40 people in attendance. We needed a lot of lasagne that night! We baked a few in the oven and a few (my husband’s brilliant idea) in the barbecue. Not only did we cook a lot of lasagne that night, we made a lot of mess in both my oven and barbecue!  The lasagne exploded all over the place!!!  Lucky for me, Norwex makes a great Oven and Grill Cleaner.

Here are pictures of my personal oven … Before & After.

Cleaning Oven Collage

I did included step-by-step cleaning instructions in an earlier Spring Clean post… but thought that if you have a busy family or a lasagne party, or are hosting Thanksgiving dinner and need to clean up the bottom of your oven before cooking the turkey, or you were ready to put the barbecue away for the winter season, this enzyme-based cleaner will make your oven/barbecue clean and look brand new!

Did you know that the “self-cleaning” cycle in your oven releases toxic lingering fumes in our homes making it an unhealthy for our families and especially our small children and small pets?

Here’s a little ‘how-to’ refresher:

Cleaning Racks CollageCleaning the oven used to be an enormous task but with Oven and Grill cleaner, simply turn the oven on to 175°, once it is preheated turn the oven off. Spray the Oven and Grill solution on the racks, walls, base, door  and glass window. Let the solution sit for 10 minutes. Wipe it clean with a Spirinett and then an EnviroCloth.  These targeted enzyme breaks down any burnt food or residue in your oven or on your racks and turns it into a black liquid which is easy to wipe clean. Never before has cleaning your oven been so simple or toxic free!

What shocks me every time, is how my Norwex EnviroCloth rinses clean after wiping up these significant messes!!

Cleaning your barbecue is also made simple with Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner. First roll your barbecue on to a tarp to catch any drips from the cleaning solution and black char from your barbecue. It would be awful for the cleaning process to damage your deck boards. Next, preheat your barbecue to approximately 175°. Turn the barbecue off. Then, spray the Oven and Grill cleaner on the racks. Wait for approximately 10 minutes, when you return, wipe down the rack with a Spirinett and then with an EnviroCloth. The EnviroCloth will also do beautiful job of cleaning/polishing the stainless steel exterior of your barbecue.

So if you missed the cleaning fever in the Spring or your summer has been filled with hosting backyard barbecues or lasagna has been exploding in your oven, Norwex has a safe and easy solution… again.

Spring Clean Outdoors

Spring Clean Outdoors

With the long-waited spring season comes the long-waited barbecue season!  Spring cleaning would not be complete without getting one of our favourite “tools” clean. As the BBQ works hard during the summer months to supply mouthwatering meals, I would like to show you a biodegradable, all-natural but tough cleaning system for your BBQ that works FANTASTIC!  It is one that you will feel comfortable cooking dinner on, right after you clean it.

BBQ – You will need: Oven & Grill CleanerSpirinett & EnviroCloth

  • Roll your BBQ onto a tarp or a used newspaper to avoid staining your deck — this is a greasy and sometimes drippy job.
  • Heat your BBQ to its lowest setting, approximately 150 degrees, turn off.
  • Spray the BBQ racks including the upper racks with Oven & Grill Cleaner, close the lid and let sit for five minutes.
  • Grab a small bowl of water and a use a Spirinett to scrub across the face of the BBQ racks.  This stainless steel ball will remove all the burnt on deposits and make your racks clean and shiny.
  • To finish the job, use an well-wrung EnviroCloth to wipe both the outside of the BBQ and the racks inside that you just scrubbed.
  • Bring your EnviroCloth to a sink and rinse well; rub it on itself to remove the majority of the grease.
  • Put your BBQ back in its original spot – ready for your next BBQ!

Done!

While we are outside let’s continue our “get it done” spring cleaning, by getting started on the windows. Our windows collect dirt, debris, whatever hit your window or what they left behind and creates another spring cleaning job. I would like to show you a simple method to maintain clean windows in your home that doesn’t not require paper towel or chemicals.

Windows – You will need: EnviroCloth & Window Cloth (that’s it)

  • Box the outside edge of your window with a well-wrung, flat-folded EnviroCloth.
  • Wipe the remainder of your window with the same EnviroCloth. Spray your window with a little water if you find the moisture is evaporating too quickly.
  • Use your flat-folded WindowCloth to polish the window – leaving a streak-free and shiny window.

Done!

For high windows:

  • Attach a well-wrung EnviroCloth to your Mop System head – after you have attached your wet mop pad (leaving it dry) – with the clip system.
  • Lock the head of the mop so it doesn’t swivel.
  • With an up and down motion, clean your window.
  • Replace EnviroCloth with a Window Cloth.  When your Window Cloth is dry you can only work in an upwards motion.  So give your window a squirt of water and polish from the base to the top of your window.

Done!

Lastly, we will clean our patio furniture.  Patio furniture is one of those things that gets dirty just by sitting there – not even being used.  But we want to use them this spring!!!  Again, this is a job that usually calls for paper towel and windex, but the Norwex method will eliminate the use of paper or chemicals. Even your kids can be the boss of the patio cleaning. So, let’s get started.

Patio Furniture – You will need: EnviroCloth & Window Cloth (that’s it, again)

  • With a well-wrung EnviroCloth, simply wipe down all the surfaces of your patio furniture.
  • Finish by using a Window Cloth to polish.

Done!

Now that your outdoor spring cleaning is well underway, sit and relax with a barbecue dinner tonight.
