Just think, one of these items might make a perfect gift for someone on your list!

Floral Reusable Wet Wipes Bag (link)

This is a perfect gift for a Mom on-the-go. Did you know? Wet wipes are one of the most common consumer items in our landfills, making up 30% of non- biodegradable waste. Instead of wet wipes, just tuck a couple Baby Body Cloths in the bag (wet or dry) and you will be ready for anything (dirty faces and hands, a small spill, and even a dirty bum). This washable Reusable Wet Wipes Bag has 2 pockets and the large pocket is lined with water-resistant PEVA to safely store your wet/soiled cloths.

Leaf Pattern Norwex Napkins with Baclock™(link)

These are a fairly new Norwex item and they were designed to help reduce the need for paper napkins. Did you know? If a family of 4 uses 2 napkins/person/day, they would use almost 3,000 napkins/year! The Norwex Napkins provide a great solution because they are made from 50% recycled material, are reusable and they have the exclusive Baclock™ self-purifying agent in the napkin so you can use it more than once before washing.

Marine, Teal & Sea Mist Counter Cloth with Baclock™ (link)

These cloths were designed to reduce the need for paper towel.  They are same size as a half-sheet paper towel, they have Baclock™ agent to go to work self-purifying the cloth and they are super absorbent. They are all the things you love about paper towel… except they are a sustainable, eco-friendly product. They are great for cleaning up spills, but I also use them in other areas in my kitchen. I have a tea station where I keep one of these to lay my spoon and catch the drips from my tea leaves. They are so handy.

Light Blue Spa Wrap (link)

I love that Norwex thinks of everything when they design a product.  This Spa Wrap is not velvety soft, but it is super absorbent and light weight.  All these things, plus it has a velcro closure to hold it in place as you get out of the shower and get ready for your day.  It’s a beautiful wrap.

Host Exclusive Offer

When you host a party with $650 in sales, 6 Buying Guests and 1 new Booking you will receive the Host Exclusive Offer!!! This month it includes: An EnviroWand with two-sided Sleeve, a mini Cleaning Paste and a grape EnviroCloth.  RETAIL VALUE: $70.97

Camping Clean Up… with Norwex

Camping Clean Up… with Norwex

Norwex Camping

A friend of mine and her husband recently took their kids camping in the Rocky Mountains for 10 days.  They had to keep their food in their van to protect it from the bears in the area.  Half way through their stay, their cooler leaked in the back of the van and sat for the rest of their trip.

We thought there was a forgotten sandwich under the chair or stinky feet at first… but we realized that the cooler had leaked and what we were smelling was not a dead body, but bacteria growing from the leaked water.” ~ Kara

They drove with their windows open as much as possible and Kara shared that they were a bit worried about the air quality in the van as well as their ability to actually remove the stink when they got home.

How Kara Cleaned Her Van…

Kara borrowed her friend’s carpet cleaner and added hot water and two scoops of Ultra Power Laundry Detergent and went to work cleaning the back of her van.

One night we were driving with the kids and my husband broke into a cadence-style song, ‘I don’t know, but I do think…’ and the kids responded, ‘I don’t think, but I do think…’, he continued, ‘this old van really STINKS!’ and the kids responded, ‘this old van really STINKS!’  Haha… but we were really afraid the van might never be the same” ~ Kara

After two UPP treatments, Kara bought a bottle of Odour Eliminator, diluted it 1:7 with water and sprayed the van.  To her surprise, in the morning, the van was perfectly odour free… well, as least as good as it gets with 4 kids in the back of a van.

how to naturally clean smell from your vehicle

I LOVE testimonials like this one, it is wonderful to hear about the power of using natural cleaning products that use soap and enzymes, instead of chemicals, to clean. Some people might believe that natural cleaners, like Norwex, are only good for the little cleaning jobs but when you have a ‘real mess’ you should pull out the heavy duty cleaners.  But this hasn’t been my experience! Yes, Norwex products are natural, biodegradable, non-toxic, green cleaning products, but they are are not just for the little clean up jobs, they are tough enough to deal with something BIG, like when your cooler spills in your vehicle and threatens to ruin your vehicle. Isn’t that awesome!!!

A few more tips on how to clean up after camping:

Cooler lid: (the white ones that collect all the dirt): Use a diluted solution of Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent and water (1 scoop for a spray bottle) and spray the lid.  Let sit for 5 minutes, then scrub with a Spirisponge and wipe clean with a damp EnviroCloth.

Camping Stove: A dap of Cleaning Paste with a Spirisponge and scrub the surface of the stove, wipe clean with a damp EnviroCloth.

Camper Surfaces: Wipe all the surfaces of your camper with a damp Envirocloth.  If you find your camper has that ‘camping smell’ use a couple mists of Odour Eliminator (diluted 1:7 with water) in the camper to freshen it up for your next trip.

BBQ: Watch my YouTube for a simple how-to-clean-your-BBQ video using Oven & Grill Cleaner, a Spirinett, a bowl of water and an EnviroCloth.

Camper Floors: The Superior Mini Mop Collection is the right size for your camper and it cleans it perfectly with just water. If you have a Large Mop, it will do just fine 🙂

Camping is the best!

My family loves to get away as often as we can during the summer months… but I won’t pretend that it’s not a lot of work.  With Norwex’s line of products, camping clean up is easier and quicker.  Check out my post on Camping Must-Haves for other camping tips. Leave me a comment about your camping experience and how Norwex was part of your clean up!

Necessities for the Holiday Kitchen

Norwex Customer Specials for the KitchenPomegranate Kitchen Towel and Kitchen Cloth with Baclock™ – This Norwex customer special comes at the perfect time and in the perfect colour!

At Christmas time, we put our kitchen towels to the test, both Norwex’s Kitchen Towel and Cloth will not disappoint. The microfiber design is ridged, which is perfect for trapping debris and for soaking up LOTS of moisture. Both cloths have Baclock™ the micro silver agent in the cloth, that goes to work with self-purification properties against mold, fungi and bacterial odor. They are lint-free, will leave your counter tops streak-free and are non-abrasive. The microfiber cloths are designed to thoroughly clean and dry your surfaces, plus they are delicate enough for crystal.

Let me share a great testimony about the Norwex Kitchen Towel that I received from a fellow consultant.  It was Thanksgiving and her whole family (16 people) was over for dinner when her dishwasher broke down.  They had no choice but to wash all the dishes by hand! She told me that ONE Norwex Kitchen Towel was all we needed to dry ALL the dishes!  They are exceptionally absorbent!! Plus, the pomegranate is a great Christmas colour and will make doing all those dishes a JOY!!!

Pack of 2 Spirinett – This tough, durable scrubber is a must for cleaning up Christmas dinner.  It is made of rust-free, non-deteriorating stainless steel that works effortlessly to remove baked-on food. This scrubber can be used in more places than the kitchen, like to remove: algae from your fish tank, water stains, glue, grime, paint, rust and more. The Spirinett is even dishwasher safe.

Gifts for the Car Connoisseur

Did you know that all the cleaning products we use on our driveways go straight into the storm drains and into the river without pretreatment at the city water plant?  Our cities assume that the storm drains only receive rain water and melted snow, not harmful chemicals. Would you be comfortable dumping your cleaning solutions from the shoreside into the river, or would you think twice?

Norwex Customer Specials for Car LoverThis Customer Special is a wonderful gift for the car lover in your life.  It not only reduces the need for harmful cleaners, but it also drastically reduces the need for water (1 bucket) to wash your vehicle. The Car Wash Mitt has a nubby chenille microfiber on one side and a sponge layer microfiber on the other.  The thick, plush fibers hold dirt and grime away from your car’s surface to reduce scratching.  The open spaces in the fibers allow the mitt to lift away dirt and grime, plus it is SUPER absorbent. You only use water to wash your car with the Car Mitt so your car will stay cleaner, longer, because there is no residual chemical muck to attract dirt to the car’s surface.

The Car Cloth is made from tightly woven fibers that prevent the cloth from holding dirt and scratching your finish. It is designed to polish your entire car, from windows, to mirrors, to chrome, to a beautiful shine.  For more details of how to green clean your vehicle, read: Car Wash… Norwex Style.

The Norwex Customer Specials will make great gifts for those on your Christmas list.  Many items are less than $25 and will bless your loved one as well as their environment.  Merry Christmas!

How to Care for your Norwex Cloths!

How to Care for your Norwex Cloths!

So you made a great decision to invest in Norwex! I call it an investment because they will change the way you clean your home… eco-friendly, non-toxic, environmentally-friendly, quick and easy cleaning methods. They are also an investment because they can seem expensive when starting your collection.  I’m Dutch… I know.  Lastly, they are an investment because they last for a LONG time… so you want to protect them!
An important part of my job is to teach you how to use and care for your product properly, so that they clean the way they are intended and so that the products will last as long as possible. The number one way you can protect your Norwex investment is to launder them properly! Let me share the strategies I have discovered through my years of using Norwex products to maximize your enjoyment of your Norwex products for many years to come!
 .
It is important to launder them in the washer and dryer on a regular basis.  The agitation cycle in the washer agitates the cloth which releases the dirt, grime and grease that has collected in the cloth when cleaning.  The dryer works to “perk up” the spokes in the microfibers and allows them to be statically charged to clean dry or wet.
Launder Norwex Microfiber in Washer and Dryer
 .
Wash in the washing machine weekly, ideally the Hot/Cold, Wash/Rinse option.  Hot water relaxes the microfibers allowing them to release the dirt that has been collected in the cloth and does a better job cleaning the cloth. By using scent-free detergent, you ensure that the microfibers in the cloth will not be coated by the fragrances or chemicals that are often found in regular detergent.  Norwex has two great scent-free laundry detergents to choose from: Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent and a Liquid Laundry Detergent.  I also add one cap full of the Norwex Odour Eliminator as well, to every load (not just Norwex) we launder at our home.

Washing with only lint-free fabrics is important to maintain the integrity of the microfibers.  If you wash your Norwex cloths with your favourite fluffy beach towels, the microfibers will collect all the lint from the towel and clog the microfibers… making the cloth unable to collect dirt and debris the next time you use it to clean. Think of the fibers as spokes on a bicycle wheel… they collect debris… but if there are loose towel fibers within reach, they will collect those too, clogging the cloths ability clean.

how norwex microfibers work

If you use fabric softeners, dryer sheets or bleach with your Norwex cloths, you will coat all the microfibers making them unable to their job. Fabric softeners and dryer sheets work to reduce static because they coat the fibers in our clothes, but they are full of chemicals and fragrances as well as being hard on the environment. Because they are designed to coat fibers, they destroy Norwex microfiber cloths. Use Norwex Dryer Balls or Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls to create space between your cloths in the dryer to allow the microfibers to “perk up” and be able to clean the surfaces in your home.  Wondering why there are two different of types of dryer balls and which one you should buy?  Read Norwex Dryer Balls FAQ.

A Few Notes:

Avoid Submerging your Cloths into Soapy Water.  I’m referring to the soapy water in your kitchen sink.  I am often asked… “If the cloths can’t go in soapy water… do I launder them without detergent in my machine?”  You want to use laundry detergent in your washing machine, that is an important part of cleaning your cloths.  Your washer’s spin cycle ensures all the soap is removed.

Change your Cloths Regularly. If you are accustom to using your kitchen cloth (whether it is Grandma’s croqueted cloth or a cotton rag) until it is smelly…. you don’t want to do that with your Norwex cloths!  People also often think, well Norwex has Baclock™ the micro silver antibacterial agent that goes to work to self-purify and inhibit odors from bacteria, mold and mildew growth within the cloth, so I rarely have to switch out my cloth. The Baclock™ agent does not have magical powers, Norwex cloths can get oversaturated with bacteria. What you are smelling is the growth of bacteria in your cloth.  Don’t wait until it is smelly!  Have a regular laundering routine.

I have followed Delores’ laundering instructions since 2006 and my cloths have always smelled fresh and clean.  No smelly cloths at my house.  ~ Michelle Kool, Edmonton, Alberta

Here is what I suggest:

Enviro & Kitchen Cloths: 1 cloth, every 2-3 days… hang to dry and launder

Body Pack Cloths (used for face or body): 1 cloth for 2 days… a three pack is to last one person for a week.

Everything Else: Launder once per week. I literally walk around my house and collect cloths from the bathrooms, kitchen, garage, our four hair turbans and spa wraps, face cloths, chenille hand towels, kitchen cloths and towels, the bath mats and hand towels, Bentley’s (our dog) mitts and towel… everything and launder them once a week.

Colour Code your Cloths. The EnviroCloth comes in four different colours. In my house, I  colour codes our EnviroCloths for different jobs.  It works like a dream.

Grey EnviroCloth: Kitchen jobs.

Blue EnviroCloth: For “blue” jobs.  The jobs that will stain the cloth get done with the blue cloth.  I don’t want all my cloths stained so I colour code.  These jobs include: cleaning the bbq, outside furniture and windows and anything in the garage.

Pink EnviroCloth: For the Toilets. Think ‘Pink is for Pee’. I literally hang them on the plumbing under the sink so they are handy if need be … like when young nephews come to visit 🙂

Green EnviroCloth: Bathroom jobs, like: wiping down the shower, tub, sinks and counters.

For Best Results use Norwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent or Norwex Liquid Laundry Detergent.  I often remind my clients that when you buy a good pair of leather boots, they always ask you if you have spray to protect your new footwear (your investment)?  The same is true for Norwex Microfiber cloths.  Do you have the laundry supplies required to protect your investment? Both of Norwex’s laundry soaps are fantastic… both require very little, UPP is powder, the Liquid detergent is enzyme-powered to help remove odor and stains.

Norwex Laundry Detergent

So, let’s say… your Norwex cloths smell… they were used for too long or they weren’t laundered frequently… now what?   Read this blog “How to Deep Clean your Microfiber Cloths” for all the details.

Norwex products are an investment!  They are going to reduce the chemicals in your home, while providing a superior way to clean.  Please leave a comment to let me know how these tips helped you get the most out of your Norwex cloths.
